Officer of the Month (May)

A Millcreek police detective is honored as May's officer of the month.
The District Attorney recognized Sergeant Rick Skonieczka of the Millcreek police department.
Skonieczka was nominated for his work on child abuse cases, he accepted the award at the Children's Advocacy center.

"It's the kind of job where you don't expect those rewards, other than by successfully prosecuting a case. So, just to be recognized for it is an honor." Said Sgt. Skonieczka.

"It takes a special officer to do these kids of cases. They're so sensitive, they're time sensitive, and you really have to have the stomach for what you're going to encounter when a little one talks about the abuse, it's heart wrenching." Said Daneri.

"I'm always delighted to see one of our hard-working partners in law enforcement receive the recognition they deserve." Said Michael Gaines, Executive Director of the CAC.
