Officer of the Month (June)

An Erie police detective is named officer of the month.
District Attorney Jack Daneri honors Detective Sergeant Jim Spagel as June's officer of the month.
Spagel has been on the Erie police force for 19 years.
And for the past 5 years, he's been assigned to investigating major crimes.
"It's rewarding because we get closure for the family, the victim's family. And just let the citizens know we're working hard for them, and we're bringing closure and hopefully safety to our community." Said Sgt. Spagel.
"He does extremely thorough work, and of course that's what's necessary when we go into a courtroom and we're trying to convince a jury that a particular defendant's guilty." Said Daneri.
