When Mother Nature picks up her paintbrush in the fall, we can expect some spectacular scenery. But with that beauty comes a bounty of aggravating allergens. Besides medication, here are some simple ways to help minimize the misery.

Check the Forecast: Monitor pollen and mold counts daily by checking the National Allergy Bureau's web site. When the numbers are high, try to stay indoors and keep the windows closed.

Make a Wardrobe Change: It's easy to track allergens into your home. After spending any time outdoors, change your clothes and wash them in hot water.

Seek Help: If these suggestions and non-prescription medications aren't working, see your doctor or allergist.
