The Warner Theatre in Erie has been taken over this Halloween weekend.
"It's just a fun thing. I'd like to have the Eerie Horror Fest be a Halloween getaway. And what better town than Erie, Pennsylvania to have people come here," said Greg Ropp, president of the festival.
It's the beginning of the 8th annual Eerie Horror Film Festival. A chance for up-and-coming film makers to showcase their works.
"I mean some of the people we're showing here could be the next Scorsese or Spielberg and it's really exciting for us," said Ropp.
"It is very special. Especially when they're new and up-and-coming. In order to get started in film production, there's a lot involved," said Joe Unitas, lighting director for the film "Night of the Living Dead."
You'll also find dozens of vendors, and even special guest celebrities, like the boy from "Child's Play," now a 30-year-old man. And David Della Rocca from "The Boondock Saints." He knows how big festivals like this could be to an aspiring film maker.
"Good. Good. The public gets to see their work. The public gets to see their work. I think it's really nice. Hopefully they'll see me and put me in their work and then the public can see that," he laughed.
And beyond the recognition for the film makers, it's great for Erie. In years past, up to 3,000 people have invaded the town.
"It's good for our town. The economic impact is awesome. I mean we have hotels filling up it's just absolutely incredible," said Ropp.
The Eerie Horror Film Festival will run until Sunday.
