I have been a weather enthusiast for as long as I can remember. Growing up in York, PA, I experienced several weather events that helped spark my curiosity in meteorology. Some of these events were the Blizzard of 1996 to Hurricane Isabel to the Tornado Outbreak of 1998 that spawned more than 20 tornadoes across central PA. Witnessing those events as a young child made me determined to pursue a career in meteorology and go off to college to study the field.
I received my BS from Millersville University located in southeastern PA. During my time at Millersville, I was a lead forecaster for 3 years and produced streaming video forecasts on the college website. Right after graduating, I earned my first opportunity as the weekend meteorologist for KVRR in Fargo, ND where I experienced the volatile weather of the northern plains. In the summer of 2010 I moved further south to Davenport, IA and worked for INN doing broadcasts for television markets all over the country.
Now, I have finally returned to my home state of Pennsylvania! I am very happy to be back in the region and am very excited to experience and forecast weather by the lake. I have always heard about the lake effect and I am up to the challenge of forecasting it and excited to see it first hand.
Besides weather, surfing has been one of my other big hobbies. I spent my summers growing up in Stone Harbor, NJ surfing the Jersey Shore. Even Lake Erie can produce some waves from time to time during the cold season so I am very excited to try out some freshwater surfing at Presque Isle!
