New details in the murder of a local man, early Monday morning.
Police say he was involved in a home invasion, just before he was gunned down, on a west side street.
But, the big question remains, who pulled the trigger? Who fired the shot that killed 31 year old Shanti Bayette?
Erie police charged three people in connection with the homicide.
This, after a home invasion robbery moments before Shanti Bayette was shot in the head.
Police say Shanti and his brother, 33 year old Chituyo Bayette barged into a home at 18th and Walnut.
They allegedly threatened three victims with guns, demanded money, punched the victims, and used a stun gun on them.
They got away with a safe, containing more than $3,600 dollars. But, just moments after the home invasion, Shanti Bayette was killed.
The robbery victims are brothers, 19 year old Jarod Tracy and 18 year Jordan Tracy.
Erie police say they seized 16 bags of marijuana and an ounce of cocaine in their home. They're facing several drug charges.
None of the three men have been charged with murder, as police were back at the scene Tuesday, trying to sort out just what happened, and who fired the gun.
Meantime, Little Italy's Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, Wally Brown, is reacting to the violence.
"It's drug related, and we thought we had them out of here, but them came back. I wish this wouldn't have happened here. We were going on such a great streak, we knew it was just a matter of time, its kinds of things like this that happen." Said Brown.
Bayette's murder is the sixth in the city so far this year, and the second in just the last three weeks.
