It's primary election day in Ohio. The state is a big prize in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination.
Election officials said turnout appeared to be fairly light today in Ashtabula County, unlikely to top 30%. A key reason of course is that President Obama has no primary opponent. So the Presidential race is a one party affair.
At the Jefferson Community Center turnout was light but steady. Some voters told us they liked Rick Santorum for his conservative stance on social issues. Others said they think Mitt Romney is more electable.
But all the voters agree on one thing. They can't stand the barrage of calls from the campaigns and the large number of negative campaign advertisements.
Voter Dee Kohl said, "Too much sniping at the end. It seems like every time there is an election it gets more and more."
Voter Norma Watts said, "They're half-truths. If you listen to what the candidate said in it's entirety, you will say I agree with that. But if you listen to the snippets you think, I don't agree with that at all."
One voter told us that yesterday she recieved 25 phone calls from the different campaigns. She wasn't happy, but still came to the polls today to cast her vote.
