The Lawrence Park community turned out Monday, for a Memorial day ceremony.
The Lawrence Park Fire and Police Chief, laid a wreath during the service.
The community has lost three soldiers in action over the years.
Army Sgt. Donald Oaks Jr., was killed In Iraq in 2003.
Corporal Jarrid King died in Afghanistan in January 2011, and Airman Bryan Bell, was killed in Afghanistan this past January.
Those at Monday's ceremony say this memorial day service is important, to never forget.
"I think it's important for people to realize what sacrifices have been made so they can do the things that they're doing today, partying picnicking, and so forth, " said Richard Nowak with the American Legion Post #571
"For me a lot of my friends served in the military in the past. A lot of them are gone already, some of them never got to come back, I was one of the lucky ones to get back. So to me, I think about them," Nowak added.
"I have two kids that served in the Army and this was a great way to honor them, to be here and represent them." Said Dwight Smith of Lawrence Park.
Also being remembered Monday, Lawrence Park fire fighter Michael Crotty, who was killed in the line of duty in 2008.
