Dozens of members of Erie's criminal justice community gathered for an annual event.
It was the 37th annual James V. Kinnane awards luncheon and conference, hosted by Mercyhurst University.
Those in the criminal justice field, from all over Erie county attended.
This years' theme was Impact: Domestic Violence, the toll it takes on our community and what we can do about it.
Also during the conference, Erie County Prison Warden, Jim Veshecco, and CEO of SafeNet, Linda Lyons King, were the recipients of this years Kinnane awards.
"It's a great day to bring together everybody that works in the criminal justice system, and to recognize certain people in the system for the work that they do. Fortunately I was the one they chose this year, " Said Veshecco. "I'm honored, I'm flattered, it's such a great distinction," Veshecco added.
"I was just absolutely astounded that I was a recipient. And of course your first thought is why would I have got such an award, and you're flooded with all the people that have received the award past or present that have helped you or help the cause move forward." Said Lyons King.
Three Mercyhurst students were also awarded scholarships during Tuesday's conference.
