Meals on Wheels Celebrates Volunteers

Meals on Wheels recognized some of its most dedicated volunteers today.

The awards ceremony at the Yacht Club celebrated people who have served for ten, fifteen and twenty years, and one woman who has given even more.

Louisa Salmon received the Metro- Erie Meals on Wheels volunteer service award for thirty five years of service.

For her, it's not just about delivering food, but being a good neighbor. She said that many of the people who she delivers meals to appreciate her for the companionship as well.

The lunch today honored the 125 volunteers work with meals on wheels in Erie.
