A Fairview man is behind bars, after police say he threatened to kill his estranged wife, and children.
It's a case that prompted a police search, lasting throughout Thursday evening, and into Friday afternoon.
A domestic dispute that started Wednesday night, turned into a police search that lasted for about 15 hours.
33 year old Angel Ruiz, is arraigned Friday afternoon on several charges, including aggravated assault, and possessing an instrument of crime.
He allegedly threatened his estranged wife, Brandy Ruiz, saying he'd kill her and their children.
At their home in Fairview, the victim told police he held a butcher knife to her neck, and assaulted her throughout the day Thursday.
She eventually got the entire family to leave the home, and when they stopped at a Country Fair in Fairview, for gas, Brandy got out and asked for help.
Police say Angel Ruiz then took off, sparking a manhunt that lasted about 15 hours.
"She actually got to a place where there were a lot of people, went in and asked some of the people to call 911. And at that point he left and fled on foot. After that, we received information that he might be at this residence. We surrounded the home and he came out peacefully." Said Trooper Marc Stevick with PSP Girard.
A judge placed Ruiz behind bars on a $150,000 dollar bond.
Brandy Ruiz and the children we're told are safe.
Girard State Police are still investigating.
