Wesleyville Police Investigate Assault

The Wesleyville Police Department is investigating an assault.  The incident happened in the 3500 block of North Street at about 7:00 PM Sunday.

Rescuers transported a male victim from the scene to UPMC Hamot Trauma Center.  They say he had been struck in the face, had teeth knocked out and suffered a laceration on his hand from grabbing a knife that may have been used in the attack.

Police investigators were conducting interviews to determine exactly what happened.  They did not release the name of the victim or a description of the suspect.
