The Harbor Creek School Board tonight will look at options to deal with problems at 2 of the district's 3 elementary schools.
A committee has been looking at repairs needed at both Klein and Clark Schools. The district says both buildings are about 50 years old and need electrical, heating and plumbing updates, plus improved handicapped accessibility and other work. The cost would total up to $8 million.
Other options include closing one or both of the schools and constructing a new building.
Superintendent Dr. Rick Lansberry said, "So I think they are just doing their due diligence in looking at all possible options at what they can do until they can decide this is the option we want to put our resources behind and we're going to go forward with it."
The board will only talk about the options tonight. A vote is not expected for a few months.
