Swimming Advisories Issued for Presque Isle Beaches

Posted: Updated:

A heads up if you're heading to a Presque Isle beach.

There are swimming advisories in effect for some of the more heavily-used beaches there. Barracks Beach, as well as beaches 1, 6, 7 and 8 are all under swim advisories because of high levels of E. coli bacteria.

You can still swim but should avoid swallowing the water. Other recommendations include wash your hands before handling food and avoid swimming if you have any open cuts.
