A large crowd turned out today for the annual Millcreek 4th of July Parade.
The parade was one of the largest in recent history with over 120 units and lasting over two hours. The heat and humidity stayed away from this year's parade. However, a cloudburst occurred mid-way through. The parade continued, and the raindrops did not dampen the spirits of neither marchers nor spectators.
"This has been a family tradition to come to the 4th of July Parade for over 20 years now. Rain or shine, we are here every year, and we enjoy it tremendously," said Melanie Carmosino, of Millcreek.
in addition to marching bands, the parade featured four live bands performing from flatbed trailers. It also featured a smoke-blowing bi-plane that flew above the parade route.
