Erie Water Works today lifted water restrictions put into effect last week because of the lack of rain.
The main water plant started to pump water again Wednesday night, after a 16 month long shutdown for a $42 million renovation project. And the backup Chestnut Street plant continues to operate.
Meantime, water reserves in towers and reservoirs have increased since the restrictions were announced.
So Erie Water Works says there is no longer a need for any restrictions. And customers can return to their normal water use.
