It is now much easier for people in Corry to get rid of unwanted or expired medications and prescription drugs. Corry Police today officially began a project with the Erie County Health Department.
A drop box is now located inside the police department. The hope is the project will help protect children from overdoses and prevent the theft of drugs. And the drop box won't just be available at specific times or days.
Corry Police Chief Richard Shopene said, "This way we have something here 24 hours a day. If they can't come in between 8am-4pm Monday-Friday when we have a clerk working, they can call us and make sure a police officer is here, come in at anytime and drop off their unwanted medications."
