Construction is now about 90% complete on the new $40 million Corry Memorial Hospital.
Crews still have to put in the operating room and finish up some walls and flooring. But the hospital is mostly finished, with crews now starting to pave the parking lot and doing other work on the final phase of construction.
The actual construction is expected to wrap up in early August. But then the employees must underg training and a lot of items have to be moved from the current hospital to the new facility.
Hospital President-CEO Barb Nichols said, "That involves a lot of coordination. We have a professional moving company we have a contract with because just as we have never built a hospital, I have never moved a hospital either."
The new hospital is tentatively scheduled to open in mid-September.
