UPS Store Burglarized; Management Speaks Out

Posted: Updated:

The owners of a local business are looking to beef up their security, after some thieves broke in and stole a lot of money.
"They jimmied this handle, they jimmied this lock. They damaged the inside, the they jimmied the  safety deposit box as well." Said store manager, Rachel Artise.

Police say someone broke into the UPS Store at 38th and Peach in Erie Sunday night.
Management tells us that the crooks pried open the door on the side of the building and stole a safe with some cash in it.
The thieves also broke open the cash registers to steal more money.

"I noticed the registers were open, stuff seemed out of place as I was helping my customer I walked in the back and saw everything was thrown around. + Your nerves start racing... would they get in." Said Artise.

Management says they've already changed the locks on the store.
They're also replacing the door, and getting a new safe and security system as well.
