Five guns and nearly $10,000 worth of cocaine are now off the streets.
Erie police conducted a raid earlier this week. It also turned up more than $4,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.
It all came from a residence in the 700 block of East 11th Street. That's where 38-year-old Eduardo Ortiz-Soto and 22-year-old Kiara Carothers lived.
One of the seized guns was reported stolen back in 2011. Erie police chief Steve Franklin says getting the guns off the street is a big step in the right direction for the city.
"With guns involved, with weapons, these are the catalysts for that type of violence," says Franklin. "We see that across the country now. Whenever you have this type of combination it usually ends up in violence."
That investigation is ongoing.
