Police cars had the street blocked and the S.W.A.T. Team surrounded the Downtown Erie Hotel. After a nearly three hour standoff Friday evening, 28-year-old Michael James, the man who is said to have shot and killed Teverous Williams two weeks ago, was taken out a hotel room by police.

"We made contact with him, we tried to get him to come out on his own and he did not," said Dan Spizarny of the Erie S.W.A.T. Team. "We ended up making a hole in the window and he ended up giving up at that point."

During the three hours a crowd had gathered across the street. In that crowd was Williams' family and guests staying at the hotel. All waiting to see what would happen.

Finally, after examining neighboring rooms, the S.W.A.T. Team was ready to make their move. Police say they had been tracking James, who is claiming to be from New Jersey, for some time and today learned of his whereabouts.

Now the arrest of James, the suspect in the Teverous Williams murder, is bringing justice to the family.

"This is justice for Teverous Williams. My son Goonie," said Williams' mother Tracy Williams. "They got him. Now my son can rest in piece."

It was an emotional scene as members of Williams' family gathered together. His mother says they have now been given a sense of peace knowing police have arrested the man they believe killed her son.

"I thank God that he answered my prayers to settle this here about my son," said Tracy.

Right now, James is facing a long list of charges including homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering and kidnapping.
