Jobless Numbers for June Disappointing, Show Improvement Since End of Recession

No good news for June unemployment rates in Northwest Pennsylvania.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 7.1% to 7.4% in Erie county. Crawford county saw a larger increase with unemployment rising from 7% to 7.7%.

However, June was three-year anniversary of the end of the recession. Since then, nearly 7,600 Erie county residents joined the workforce. Manufacturing was among the industries employing more workers.
