Man Honoring Local Soldiers Gets Recognized

The man who has been honoring fallen soldiers around town got some recognition of his own Saturday. Bob Boyd, the man responsible for decorating bridges across town with American flags, was honored at the Navy picnic in Harborcreek.

Boyd is a Navy veteran and began putting flags up to show support for the troops. Support, he said, troops during his time in the service didn't receive.

"I didn't want the guys and women coming home this time to do the same," said Boyd. "So I'm trying to present them in a positive way and show them they are supported so hopefully when they come home they come home as the heroes they are."

Boyd said he gets more out of doing this than he puts in.
