Wife of Erie Mobster Authors Book

Posted: Updated:

The wife of a mobster from Erie is telling her side of the story in a new book that just came out on Friday.  Susan DeSantis-Ferritto says she started to write the book, "Ferritto, An Assassin Scorned," out of anger that her late husband, Raymond Ferritto was misunderstood. Then she found the process of writing  therapeutic and helpful in understanding her own involvement with the notorious crime figure. Ferritto, is known for carrying out a couple of mob hits, most notably, killing "The Irishman," Danny Greene, in Cleveland. But he turned into a government witness and sent many of his cohorts in the Cleveland mob scene to jail.

The author says, "they called him a rat - but they didn't understand why he did it."  DeSantis- Ferritto says there are books and movies written about her husband, but no one gets it right.  She says she gives her husband's view of events a voice in her book.  She believes that Raymond Ferritto was the only mobster in the history of La Cosa Nostra to destroy a leadership operation, live to tell about it and rise to become a boss himself.

The book, "Ferritto, An Assassin Scorned," is published by Ragpaper Press in Erie.  The author says you can purchase it on line.
