Freshman at Gannon University had some help with the heavy lifting as they moved into their dorms on Saturday.
Older students came early to help their new classmates move in.
Volunteers carried boxes, suitcases and even furniture from cars to dorm rooms.
Students helping out said they know how stressful moving can be, especially for the first time.
Freshman were grateful for the extra hands that made their transition to college a little easier.
"It makes everything go quick," said Freshman Taylor Beatty. She appreciated that it was one less thing she had to worry about.
There was also a picnic to welcome freshman and transfer students to Gannon's campus.
