Country music artist, Phil Vassar closed out the events for the 2012 edition of Celebrate Erie. A big crowd packed State Street in front of the main stage for the concert.
Vassar made his debut on the country music scene in the late 1990's, co-writing singles for several top country artists. His debut album in 2001 turned out five hit singles.
Vassar was the last of three name acts performing free concerts as part of Celebrate Erie. The Buckinghams and former Kiss member, Ace Frehley also drew big crowds downtown for the festivities.
Police responded to some reports of people fighting on Sunday night, but say the calls did not lead to any arrests.
