If you're afraid of heights, you sure wouldn't want Dave Lesonik's job. He was busy today finishing up painting the micro-wave tower at the WICU-WSEE studios on State Street. The tower is about 325 feet tall.
As a sub-contractor for Accent Construction, Dave is also painting our main tower on Donation Road. And that tower is 700 feet tall.
Dave has been tackling such assignments for 13 years. And no paint job hundreds of feet in the air is ever routine.
He said, "It is scary. I get very scared. But the key is, don't look down and don't let go. I always have the updated, best safety equipment that is available. And I just work very carefully and slowly, and think things out as I go."
Dave says his biggest challenge is the weather. Heat, cold, wind, rain and snow all present different challenges.
