Two homes went up in flames Monday night, on Erie's west side.
Fire broke out at a home in the 1900 block of Cascade street, around 7:45 p.m..
It spread quickly, and a few minutes later, a fire's reported at a home right next door.
There were several people inside the first home at the time the fire broke out.
Fire fighters got the fires under control quickly, in just about 15 minutes.
Penelec, National Fuel, and fire investigators were all called to the scene.
The investigator is working on finding a cause.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced families.
