A committee working to construct a 9/11 Memorial in Erie says it has found a tentative location for the memorial. Details must still be worked out with the property owner, but Committee Member Mark Aleksandrowicz says the process may take about 30 days.
The centerpiece for the memorial will be a steel beam from the World Trade Center. A delegation from Erie picked up the beam in New York City last summer.
Once the location has been finalized, a ground breaking ceremony will be held and construction should start immediately, according to Aleksandrowicz.
