Neighborhood safety leaders teamed up once again for a community cleanup.
Mothers Against Teen Violence and the Eastside Eagles Neighborhood Watch joined efforts on Saturday for the project.
People of all ages put on their gloves and took to the streets, cleaning up trash.
The cleanup went all afternoon and concluded with a youth prayer vigil.
Those involved say, they wanted the cleanup to promote neighborhood pride, while teaching kids the importance of giving back.
"The pride in it is giving back to our community... like my theme for the day, 'if we pick up the trash, we'll bring back the class'," said organizer Sonya Arrington. "People can take pride in their neighborhoods, you go to your door you look out you don't see all this paper and trash all around, you see something clean, something beautified."
This was the third year for the community cleanup.
