Northstar, the horse intentionally set on fire while in its pasture just over a week ago, gets a visit from his vet Tuesday.
Our cameras were there, when Dr. Amanda Turner checked up on Northstar.
She says he's suffering from mostly second degree burns, which seem to be healing well.
But, there are some spots that aren't, that are infected and need skin grafting.
That extra, specialized care he'll have to get from a veterinary school in Ohio.
You'll remember, Northstar was hurt, when someone intentionally poured an accelerant on him, and set him on fire.
It happened just over a week ago, near his home in Crawford county.
After Tuesday's visit, Northstar made his way out to its pasture and wandered around.
Dr. Turner says she's surprised at how well he's doing.
"Most of it's looking pretty good. Yeah he looks terrible because his skins starting to slough but underneath is nice and healthy tissue. It's getting nice and red easy so he's going in the right direction it seems to be healing and there's just a few areas I'm a little bit more concerned about and Ohio State can go take a look at that and see what they need to do for that, but he's doing good." Said Dr. Turner.
Family and friends are now making arrangements to get Northstar to Ohio State University to be checked out.
