Sean Wiley may have been destined for a career in politics. His grandfather was the Recorder of Deeds for Erie County.
His dad was a Millcreek Committee chairman.
"I knew for a long time that this is what I wanted to do," he told us.
Less sure was for what race to run. That decision was made when popular Republican senator Jane Earll announced her decision to retire.
Wiley ran in a crowded primary and won, setting up a November showdown with Earll endorsee Janet Anderson.
Wiley is a 41-year old married father of three children. He is currently the Director of the Saint Vincent Health Foundation and previously served in County government as Director of Administration.
