Another mass search is planned on Chautauqua Lake for an invasive plant.
The invasive water chestnut plant was first discovered in the lake back in July. A short time later, 40 volunteers spent a day searching for the plants, trying to eliminate them before they spread.
The plant can form a thick mat of vegetation that chokes off native plants and causes problems for boaters.
The latest search is scheduled for Saturday, September 15th at 8:30 am. Volunteers should meet at the Stow Ferry.
