A wounded veteran made a stop in Erie tonight on his national tour.
Terry Barnes, a recently retired Army member who served for 17 years, is riding his bike across the country from Fort Drum, New York, to Mississippi.
He's riding around 1,400 miles, and he plans to do it in just 20 days.
He says he wants to raise around 400 thousand dollars, and if he doesn't do it by the time he gets to his final destination, he said he'll get on his bike and ride back to New York.
As a wounded soldier himself, he understands the need for support.
"A lot of these guys while they're in the service they live at a certain standard," said Barnes. "Now they're out as a wounded warrior, and their standard dropped. Some of these people are starting to lose their homes, lose their vehicles and things like that." That prompted him to come up with his own foundation, dedicated to helping wounded veterans.
