A new scam is circulating throughout Pennsylvania, scaring people into thinking they missed jury duty and owe a big fine, or even jail time.
So, we contacted the Erie County Court Administrator, to find out if it's happening here. We discovered that it is, and it's happened as recently as this week.
It's basically a prank call, and the bottom line, don't forward it along.
"If they don't get something in writing, a jury summons that is signed by a judge, or a letter that's signed by a judge, they should disregard it, or simply call the courthouse so we can verify it." Said District Court Administrator, Thomas Aaron.
Again, if you have a question about jury duty, call your county court administrator's office.
