The Manufacturer & Business Association Board of Governors has named Joel A. Berdine as its newest Board member, replacing Lorenzo Simonelli, president and CEO of GE Transportation. Berdine will serve on the 12-person Board for a three-year term.
Berdine was appointed general manager of Global Supply Chain for GE Transportation in October 2009 and in March 2012 appointed to general manager for Locomotive and Mining, Global Supply Chain. Prior to that, he served as general manager of Global Supply Chain for GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies. He assumed this role in June 2005 after a serving as general manager for GE Energy's Power Electronics Global Supply Chain.
Berdine began his GE career in 1988 at GE Energy, where he held numerous positions in Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality. Berdine earned a bachelor's degree in physics from St. Bonaventure University and a master's degree in Operations Research – Applied Statistics, from Union College in Schenedacty, New York.
