BALLINGER, Texas -
A large low pressure system is producing flooding rainfall in parts of Texas and the lower Mississippi Valley.
Much of central Texas has seen more than 2" of rain, with localized reports of more than half of a foot of drenching rainfall over the past few days.
Flash flooding continues in several Texas and Louisiana counties, where some places have received record rainfall for the date.
Evacuations are underway in part of the town of Ballenger, in Runnels County, Texas.
The low pressure system responsible for the deluge will track northeast and weaken over the next few days.
We'll be along the northwestern fringe of the storm track, with scattered, much lighter rain showers in our local forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
