Erie residents might now be part of medical history.
The American Cancer Society was signing up volunteers on Saturday to be part of a 20 year cancer study.
People registered at Perry Square, where they had to fill out a survey and give a quick blood sample.
Now they'll be asked periodically to fill out surveys and track their lifestyles, which will possibly find links to specific causes of cancer.
Studies like this one in the past, have lead to monumental findings, like the link between smoking and lung cancer.
Participants were people between the ages of 35 and 65 who had never had cancer.
