A record crowd came out despite the rain on Sunday, for this years Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk.
About a thousand people left from Rainbow Gardens and walked a three mile loop, just past Beach One and back.
The fundraising goal was set high, at $175,000, and organizers said they were on track to meet that number.
The money is going to good use, as the search for a cure becomes more promising each year.
"The monies raised goes to research and we are... getting very close," said Diane Sickles, the Northwest PA branch manager for JDRF.
200 JDRF walks happen around the nation each year.
