ATLANTIC OCEAN -
After a week-long break in the Atlantic hurricane season, a very small system became organized on Thursday afternoon, and Tropical Storm Patty formed. At 11 PM on Thursday night, Patty's maximum winds strengthened to 45 mph over a very small area. The small tropical storm never moved much, as it circulated, nearly stationary, just east of the Bahamas. Patty decreased in intensity this Friday afternoon, and became a Tropical Depression once again.
