Storm Causes Several Area Schools To Cancel Classes

Due to expected bad weather conditions, all schools in the Erie and Millcreek school districts will be closed.

Below are some other closings:

The Barber National Institute School have canceled all classes for Tuesday. The Barber National Institute is open, however classes at the Elizabeth Lee Black School are canceled.

Stairways Center Art Classes on Tuesday are canceled (typically 10-5)

Morning Glory Christian Child Care Center - Closed Tuesday

Stairways Behavioral Health: Erie Outpatient Clinic, Forensic Outpatient Clinic, Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Clinic, Meadville Outpatient Clinic - Closed Tuesday

Boys & Girls Club preschool

Young Environment Learning Center in Erie and Girard will be closed Tuesday as well.

    The PA Fish and Boat Commission is investigating the circumstances of a deadly canoe accident on Elk Creek Monday night. Waterways Conservation Officer Brook Tolbert says the waters of Elk Creek were high because of heavy rains on Sunday. Tolbert said 53-year old Michael Kohler, and 33-year-old Matthew Kaliszewski were riding that high water when they got into difficulty.
