The phones continue to ring at Erie Insurance, with policy holders filing damage claims from Hurricane Sandy.
The company has about 3 million policy holders in areas impacted by the giant storm. But it does not do business in hard hit New Jersey. And Erie Insurance does little business in New York City. Still there is plenty of work to do for nearly 150 adjustors who were mobilized even before the storm made landfall.
Erie Insurance Vice-President Gary Sullivan said, "When Hurricane Sandy did make landfall, we did move folks in after that. The areas affected have been in Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, and a little bit in New York State. The Cleveland area has been hit as well."
The company says it will probably take a few weeks for it's workers to process the majority of the damage claims.
