Some Catholic parishes are taking collections this weekend for those still struggling in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy.
Some churches will collect money next weekend, as well.
One hundred percent of the money donated will be forwarded directly to Catholic Charities, and other organizations with resources to help those affected.
Parishioners can make checks out to their church, and the money will be forwarded to the diocesan financial office.
Holy Rosary was one parish that took up a second collection today, and pastor Fr. John Jacquel said it's another way to live out the teachings of the Bible, helping those in need.
People of all faiths are welcome to contribute; just stop by any Catholic Charities office.
