Children at an Erie elementary school now have a welcome addition to their music room.
At Pfeiffer-Burleigh today. first graders were singing along to music played by the teacher, Amy Shallenberger. She was playing a piano donated to the school this morning by Gannon University's Erie Chamber Orchestra.
The teacher says having the piano will allow her to greatly improve music education for the kids at the inner city school.
Shallenberger said, "When we have the piano in the room, I can play different types of music, different chords, fast music and slow music to experience the music in a way that is not a recording. So it is something live, and inspiring for them."
The orchestra paid for the piano plus the cost to transport it to the school and to get it tuned.
