A big auction Monday night at the Bayfront Convention Center, with all the money going towards a great cause.
It was the 19th annual Chef's Auction, hosted by the March of Dimes of Northwest Pennsylvania. Hundreds of people showed up, and bid on prize packages. But before the bidding got started, those there had the chance to try dishes from 20 local restaurants.
All the money raised at Monday night's auction will be staying in area to help the March of Dimes.
"What's nice about the research is that we say it stays here, but what happens here can be used nationally or around the world," said Co-chair of the March of Dimes Northwest Pennsylvania Scott Graef. "So even though it might fund programs and research in Northwest Pennsylvania, and hospitals in this area, it really is a global effect."
Lilly Broadcasting is a proud sponsor of the annual Chef's Auction.
