A ceremony today formally named Edinboro University's first female president. Dr. Julie Wollman actually took over in June, but the inauguration is a tradition, to welcome the new leader of the school.
Faculty, students, government and community leaders attended the afternoon ceremony at Memorial Hall on campus. Today's ceremony capped a week of events with the theme of excellence, optimism and leadership.
Now while Wollman is the first woman to lead the school she says she wants to simply be judged on her accomplishments.
She said her key goal is to keep Edinboro University moving forward by improving student achievement.
Dr. Wollman said, "We're really focused on excellence, raising the standards to the highest quality here in the classroom and the education we provide. And also the experience across the university and student success. That is really where we will be focused."
Wollman was chosen as Edinboro University's 17th president following a nationwide search.
