The Erie Philharmonic kicked off its symphonic program with a work by Osvaldo Golijov, who has emerged as one of this century's leading composers. The audience also learned why Vivaldi is Vivacious. The program included Vivaldi's Four Seasons, featuring Avery Fisher Career Grant Recipient, Violinist, Jennifer Frautschi.
And speaking of vivacious, the philharmonic turned the spotlight on a 100 year old woman in the audience, Victoria Dollinger, who used to play in violin in the orchestra herself. The audience offered a warm round of applause for the senior string player.
