Fur Ball Raises Funds for Cats

Organizers clearly had fun with the title of a benefit at the yacht club for a local cat sanctuary. The first annual "fur ball" attracted about one hundred fifty supporters. They were all asked to "cough it up" for the animals at the Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center on West Lake Road. 

The event included a Chinese Auction, with many donated items for cat lovers. Organizers say their only income comes from donations.  The staff is all volunteers.   Orphan angels is a no kill shelter, with a goal of finding loving homes for all their cats and kittens.
