WICU/WSEE reached out to a retired U.S. Navy Commander from Erie, for a comment on the scandal that lead to the resignation of CIA Director, General David Petraeus. Commander Brian Lasher, a history teacher at Collegiate Academy is a retired intelligence officer, who regularly briefed Petraeus during a tour of duty in Iraq.
Lasher shared a picture of himself with the Four Star General. Lasher says he believes Petraeus did the right thing when he stepped down promptly, but adds that the scandal has not changed his high regard for Petraeus. "He is a brilliant man, and the unfortunate circumstances do not make me think any less of him," said Lasher.
Lasher gave bi-weekly briefings to General Petraeus on date palm spraying and on religious reconciliation between Shiites and Sunnis.
