Kanzius Cancer Research Heads In New Direction

An update to a story we first told you about last month. The Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation is now moving in a new direction with research after discovering that radio frequency waves alone can kill 10 to 30% of pancreatic and liver cancer cells.

They first made this announcement during the faces2012 National Conference. They say while this wasn't exactly what they started out to prove, they are ready to move forward with this, and start human trials.

"If we can get to human trials quicker, get patients on the table and start killing cancer without those harsh side effects of radiation and chemotherapy, then wow, what a chance we can make in mankind," said Executive Director Mark Neidig. 

Meanwhile, a local photographer is teaming up with Kanzius to help raise money. R Frank Photography is collaborating with the foundation throughout 2013. Every session the company books, they will give $25 to Kanzius. 

Rob Frank, owner of R Frank Photography, said the biggest reason he wanted to do this is because his mom battled breast cancer. And doing this, is a small way for everyone to give back.

"What'd I'd really love to see is clients come to us and say, 'Hey, we'd like to give more that 25, we'd like to match' or 'We'd like to help however we can'," said Frank. "I really believe that this kind of thing is contagious."

R Frank Photography is also working on a national Public Service Announcement for the foundation.
